ChatGPT for Teensは誰に適用されるか
自分や家族に関係するかを決めるのは機能の一覧ではなく適用条件です。ここは公式発表よりヘルプセンター側に細かく書かれています。
13〜17歳のアカウントは自動で切り替わる
ChatGPT 側が18歳未満と判断すると利用者の操作なしにティーン向けの体験へ切り替わります。判断材料はアカウントに登録された年齢情報、確認済みの年齢、年齢予測の3つです。年齢予測は OpenAI が今回より前に展開していた仕組みで、申告が無くても18歳未満と推定されれば対象になります。つまり「13〜17歳だと申告しなければ回避できる」構造ではありません。 逆に18歳以上なのに適用された場合は、年齢を確認する手続きで保護の解除を申請できます。

提供開始日と対象プラン
提供は2026年8月18日開始で無料プランと個人向け有料プランが対象です。法人向けや教育機関向けプランは含まれていません。世界規模の展開ですがオーストラリアだけは完全な提供が9月8日の見込みとされています。段階的な展開のため対象年齢でも当日から画面が変わるとは限りません。 まだ表示されない場合は数週間かけて提供範囲を広げるとヘルプセンターは書いています。

18歳になったあとはどう扱われるか
18歳以上と識別されるとアカウントはティーン向け体験から外れ、保護機能と保護者アカウントとの連携が終了する場合があります。ただし外れたままにする必要はありません。ペアレンタルコントロールやセンシティブな内容を減らす設定はいつでも掛け直せると明記されています。

学習モードと宿題リマインダーは何をするか
今回の発表で機能面の中心に置かれたのは学習です。答えを渡す速さではなく、自力で解けるところまで運ぶ設計になっています。
学習モードは答えではなく手順へ導く
学習モードは導きとなる質問と段階的な支援で教材を理解させる機能です。試験勉強中に知らない概念の説明を求めたり、練習問題の解き方をたどったり、理解度を確認したりする使い方が想定されています。すぐ答えが欲しいと頼んだ場合でも自力で解くための手順と問いへ誘導されます。 OpenAI は学習モードを教師・科学者・教育学の専門家と設計したとしています。能動的な想起や自己説明は受動的な復習だけの場合より理解と長期の記憶保持を支えうる。その学習科学の研究とも整合する設計だという説明です。

宿題の近道を検知して声をかける
新機能の「責任ある宿題リマインダー」は課題を近道で済ませようとしている兆候を認識して学習モードへ案内します。TechCrunch はこれを学校で広がった ChatGPT 頼みのカンニングという教育側の問題への対応だと位置づけています。近道の兆候を捉えると、協働で段階的に解く流れへ引き戻されます。

学習モードのほかに練習と理解度の確認に使うクイズと、難しい概念を視覚的に示す学習ビジュアライゼーションが入ります。もうひとつが「学習時間」です。新しいチャットを既定で学習モードにする時間帯を、本人か連携した保護者が決められます。時間帯を決める設計になっているぶん、単発の機能というより勉強の習慣を作る側の道具です。

18歳未満には保護が既定で入る
保護機能は設定してから効くものではなく、対象アカウントで最初から入っています。適用範囲は話題の制限とモデルの振る舞いの両方に及びます。
自傷や性的表現など一部のテーマでは利用できない
保護の根拠になっているのは Model Spec（モデルの振る舞いを定めた公式仕様書）の18歳未満向け原則で、発達科学と専門家の助言を踏まえたものだと説明されています。実際に年齢に応じた保護が当たるのは自傷、暴力、摂食障害、危険な行為、露骨な性的表現や生々しい描写といったリスクの高い領域です。学び・創作・探求そのものは残したうえで、有害または発達段階に不適切な内容に触れる機会を減らします。

感情的な依存を促さないよう規定されている
更新された18歳未満向け Model Spec は恋愛的・性的なロールプレイを遮断するだけにとどまりません。ChatGPT は恋愛的な表現を使わず、感情的な依存を促さず、自分に感情や意識があると示唆しないよう定められています。休憩を促すリマインダーと、相手が AI だと一貫して示す案内も入ります。現実の人間関係を置き換えないという線引きは、モデルの仕様と画面の表示の両方に組み込まれています。

ペアレンタルコントロールでできる3つのこと
アカウントを連携した保護者ができるのは次の3つです。
- 決めた時間帯だけ ChatGPT の利用を制限するサイレント時間の設定
- 一部の設定の管理
- リスクの高い限られた状況での安全通知の受信
今回は摂食障害に関する通知が追加されました。一方で会話の閲覧や監視はできません。安全通知で共有される範囲も支援に必要な情報に絞られます。保護者に渡されるのは会話の中身ではなく、支援が要る局面の合図だけです。

訴訟と規制の圧力が背景にある
この発表は安全対策の空白を突かれた末に出てきたものでもあります。TechCrunch は AI チャットボットの安全対策不足をめぐる複数の訴訟を背景に挙げたうえで、ChatGPT が2022年末の登場から週間9億人規模に達するまで10代向けの本格的な保護が無かった点を指摘しています。協力する気の無い10代がこの仕組みをどれだけ簡単に抜けられるかは未知数だとも書いています。保護が既定で入ることと、実際に効き続けることは別の問題として残ります。 OpenAI をめぐっては米42州の司法長官による子どもの安全をめぐる調査も進んでおり、規制側の圧力は続いています。
