What is a QR Code Reader?

A QR code reader is a tool that decodes embedded data such as URLs and text from QR code images. You can instantly check the contents of a QR code from your browser by uploading an image or using your camera.

All processing is done entirely in your browser — no QR code images or decoded data are ever sent to our servers. This makes it ideal for safely checking the contents of suspicious QR codes.

How to Read a QR Code (3 Steps)

1. Prepare your QR code image: Get a screenshot or photo of the QR code you want to read. PNG, JPEG, WebP, and SVG formats are supported.

2. Upload or camera scan: Drag and drop the image, or switch to the Camera Scan tab to scan using your webcam.

3. Copy or use the result: Copy the decoded URL or text with one click. You can also create a new QR code from the result using our QR Code Generator.

When This Tool Comes in Handy

When you receive a QR code image via email or chat and want to check its contents without pulling out your phone.

When you need to verify that a QR code on a flyer or poster links to the correct URL before printing.

When you want to safely check the destination of a suspicious QR code without actually visiting the link.
